Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon-Enabled Wet Chemical Prelithiation and Presodiation for Batteries

The current mainstream energy storage systems are in urgent need of performance improvements to meet novel application requirements. In pursuit a higher density Li-ion and Na-ion batteries, the conventional electrode materials have reached upper limit their theoretical specific capacities. Hence, facile methods reducing irreversible lithium-ion/sodium-ion loss developed further boost battery density. Herein, we review studies that use polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons for wet chemical prelithiation presodiation. molecular structures arenes solvents used solution-based prelithiation/presodiation substantial impact on power effectiveness. Multiple reports already shown excellent initial Coulombic efficiency streamlined processes by using this type strategy. This article will cover how select appropriate hydrocarbon reagents various materials/electrodes provide possible directions guidelines future works.
